Caste certificate is the certificate issued to individuals who belong SC, ST, BC, OBC caste. This is helpful for the backward community classes in getting scholarships, government jobs under reservation quota, for getting free health cards, ration cards, housing schemes, etc., each and every state issues caste certificate. Type of application form differs but the procedure is same. Still some states has not introduced online method.
One can apply online and offline as well. Online is quite easy process. Offline is also easy process and still preferable by all. One can get easily caste certificate if, his/her father/relatives possess caste certificate. In case of caste conversion/religion it may take 2 – 3 days for procedure to take place.
How to apply for caste certificate online
- Firstly one has to visit nearest mee seva center
- Give the service provider the list of documents needed for caste certificate
- It can be done by service provider or you can do on your own
- Open the official page of mee seva
- Click on Government forms which is on the top left of the page
- You will find list of different forms
- Among those, click on Community and date of birth certificate relating to scheduled castes and back ward classes (ii-a) application form

- Fill in all the details properly without any spelling mistakes
- Take an affidavit with notary of rs.10 bond paper
- Mee seva agents also has these bond papers
- Upload the scan documents
- Click on submit button
- Service provider gives a receipt which contains transaction id and application number for application status
- service provider may charge about rs.50.
- Within 30 days you may get new caste certificate
How to apply for caste certificate offline
- Best yet traditional method of applying caste certificate is through offline. Yes, still many of citizens still apply through offline method, as caste certificate is issued without any interruption.
- Visit the nearest Mandal Revenue Office
- In the caste certificate section, take an application form for caste certificate.
- Fill it up and affix with all the related documents
- Take an affidavit with notary of rs.10 bond paper and submit it to Junior Assistant
- Junior Assistant signs it over, gives to revenue inspector and revenue inspector in turn gives to Mandal Revenue Officer.
- You will receive sms regarding the status, rejection, accepting of application form
- Finally a new caste certificate is issued within 30 days
